Donating in style at the Pincher Creek Regimental Valentine’s Ball

The RCMP & Pincher Creek Emergency Services (PCES) Regimental Community Charity Valentine’s Ball promises to be an elegant and charitable affair.

Held on Saturday, February 10 at the Pincher Creek Community Hall, guests attending the ball will be treated to cocktails and a three-course dinner catered by LA Chefs Catering & Events Ltd. before hitting the dance floor to jams performed by The Chevelles.

“It’s a way for the community to get together for a nice formal evening, really good music and some drinks. It’s a great opportunity to get to know the police officers in a different way, rather than just on the street. It gives the public a chance to meet the members on a more personal level,” says event organizer and secretary at the Pincher Creek RCMP detachment Kim Lissel.

It’s also a night to give back to the community, with a silent auction and 50/50 draws. Each table will have the opportunity to collectively nominate a charity they would like to see a donation go towards, and ball organizers will select the top 3 charities with the most amount of votes.

“We want to give back to the community as much as we can because they are so supportive of us, so it’s just our way of showing our appreciation,” says Lissel.

Dress code for guests is formal attire. RCMP officers will be dressed in their red surge and fire officers will be in uniform as well.

The last regimental ball was held in 2014 and, according to Lissel, this will be the fourth ball held in the past 20 years. The 2014 event donated approximately $700 each to the Pincher Creek Women's Emergency Shelter Association, Pincher Creek RCMP Victim Services and the Pincher Creek Humane Society/SPCA.

Tickets are $90 and can be purchased from Pincher Creek RCMP, Pincher Creek Fire Hall, Piikani Nation RCMP and Crowsnest Pass RCMP. For more information, visit the Pincher Creek RCMP & PCES Regimental Community Valentine's Charity Ball Facebook page.
